New Law In Italy To Stop Migrant Flow

 

Italy introduced the new law after failing to stop migrants crossing the Mediterranean into Italy. Citizens call the law racist.

 

The far-right party Fratelli d’Italia‘ won the election by promising to stop illegal immigration. Still, migrants are making dangerous sea crossings to enter Italy.

The government has made a new law to prevent the arrival of illegal immigrants by sea. Under the law, those involved in bringing illegal immigrants to Italy face 10 to 30 years in prison and the same sentence for boatmen.

 

However, many citizens of the country call the law racist. Locals say, this government wants to close the border. They are taking away people’s right to free movement. This situation must end. The flow of migrants arriving by sea cannot be stopped.

 

1 lakh 5 thousand 129 migrants entered Italy in 2022. Meanwhile, 20 thousand 46 people have come so far this year.
